Our lunch at Le Tayac was something out of a dream! From the moment we walked in, Margaux's enthusiasm for hospitality and the exceptional food and wine infused our experience. We sat on the terrace to take in the gorgeous view of the vineyard and surrounding valley – the perfect way to remember how much of what comes to the table is from the surrounding landscape. Margaux took the time to make recommendations about wine to go with our meal – a cheery sparkling to start and then a flavorful rosé during the meal, both from the vineyard. My husband and I picked different dishes from the tasting menu so by the time we tried each other's, we had everything. Thank goodness we didn't miss a single dish. Le Tayac is something special because you can feel Margaux and Nicolas's warmth and skill...

I had monkfish, chicken and then a pistachio cake whose sponge was delicately (and gorgeously!) flavoured with olive oil. It just worked - and demonstrates perfectly how this lovely little restaurant balances simplicity with a special (but unfussy) eating experience.
Can't wait to return when I'm back...
