Auberge Les Saveurs d'Azun — Restaurant in Argelès-Gazost

What an amazing inn to have dinner at. From the way the place looks to the atmosphere and the welcoming host, everything was just as you would expect in a beautiful mountain village.

To start with the food, it was simply amazing. I've had some food up until now around the places that we visited in South of France, but I never expected to walk into an inn in the mountains and receive such a quality of food. Everything was extremely tasteful. We had the set menu. I recommend it to everybody. Sit down and do the three courses. You will not regret them. The lamb was absolutely stunning. It was, according to the host, cooked six hours on slow heat with seasoning. Honestly, guys, the moment it came out of that oven and it was on the plate, it was absolutely melting. Fantastic. Actually I was looking forward to a great evening with my family (2 adults and two kids) at 'Les Saveurs d' Azun' given the high ratings of this local restaurant. Unfortunately they didn't live up to those ratings. The place is traditional and our waitress was friendly, although there isn't any other language available than French. But fine... that's the charm of Pyrenees countryside. To cut it short: the food can be described maximum as ordinary, or rather as 'not so great'. It's not horrible, but for sure no better than what I described. Take in account the high ratings on internet and rather high prices (honestly: we ate 'a la carte'), and than perhaps you understand we were really disappointed. accueil juste sympa par le "patron" car pas réservé .Pas de possibilité d'être dehors ,non pas pour des raisons de place ou de covid mais pas assez de parasols ! celle là il fallait la trouver ! Donc dedans ,avec un jeune serveur timide mais gentil. Menu à 26.50 avec différents suppléments .Entrée avec terrine poisson bien présentée mais aucun gout .
