La Table de Fernand — Restaurant in Argentan

This restaurant far exceeded our expectations. Definitely, DEFINITELY a must try. Their cuisine is simply out of this world, they blew it out of the park with every single dish. Mind boggling to be able to get it right every single time.

We had crème brûlée aux foie gras and tuna for our entrées, revolutionary. The crispness and sweetness of the burnt sugar shell was an interesting and novel twist to the creaminess and richness of the foie gras. The tuna was impeccably seasoned, every single bite was pure deliciousness.

And for the veal. Absolute perfection. It was so tender and juicy, paired with an intense and flavorful dark sauce. Best veal that we have ever had. Even the sides of 3 styles of potato and carrot purée were nothing short of amazing.

Their desserts are definitely a must, you’ll never cease to be impressed. We had both the choux and the Mille-feuille, and boy were they the definition of the icing on the cake. The choux was crispy, creamy, not overly sweet, the perfect balance of cream and pastry. Basically everything you imagined the perfect choux to be. The Mille-feuille was so crispy, with a beautifully fragrant pastry, devoured it in its entirety with the blink of an eye.

Really wonderful, delicious food at an amazing price for such quality. Lovely service, our seven year old son was treated with such respect and given a beautifully presented and well thought out ‘children’s meal’ rather than the standard chicken nuggets and chips you get in so many places. I find myself returning to this restaurant time and time again, and it never disappoints. The quality for the price is unbeatable, the owners are always welcoming and accommodating. I love the rapport they have with their clients, The food is consistently excellent, and the service feels genuinely personal. If you're looking for a place that combines great food with a warm atmosphere, this is it—I can't recommend it...
