L'Europe — Restaurant in Béziers

We stopped here for lunch and sat across the street under the trees in the shade. The plat du jour was ham with honey - the ham steak was very tender and not salty (although it looked like a gammon steak) and it was served with potato dauphinoise and salad and proved to be amazing value. The entrée of ham and melon was also excellent as was the mozzarella with tomatoes served with very tasty basil pesto. Mixed feelings here. We took an evening menu (group of 4) and some plates were wonderful, but, some were also rather disappointing. My wife took the frogs legs entree which was great but my entree of a charcuterie plate was rather mediocre. That said, my main and dessert were both very good. À ne surtout pas tester ! Le service est scandaleusement nul. Pour commencer, les serveuses partent systématiquement avant que l'on ait fini notre phrase. On nous prend le cendrier pour le vider, ne nous le ramène pas, nous dit qu'il n'y en a plus et qu'on peut jeter le mégot dans les fleurs de la ville ou par terre. La table n'a pas été nettoyée, les couverts pas installés, aucun verre n'a été apporté. Le service était très long et il était difficile de communiquer avec eux. Le burger traditionnel à 14,90€ dégoulinait de fromage, il était huileux et écœurant, de même pour les frites. Sans parler de la salade qui croulait sous la sauce.
