The venue is set in a wonderful location (hence 1*) and as it is nearby to where a friend had been staying I suggested we go here as my treat because I wanted to thank them for hosting me.
It was unfortunate then that the staff made it difficult to have a good time and this evening is considered the low point of an otherwise lovely holiday..
As it was a mid-week evening visit, there was only one other table of 2 alongside ours and the owner sat in the bar, yet we had to ask on 4 occasions for water.
In fairness, there wasn't much of a wait after ordering food, which was actually quite nice (hence the 2nd *).

Their restaurant is tastefully decorated giving a warm and cosy atmosphere and providing the customers with charming views : impressive cliffs from their terrasse on one side and beautiful river from their romantic balcony on the other.
What a pearl of a place! Gourmet food, reasonable prices, kind staff, gorgeous location, and more than generous...

We were spoke to very rudely by a man in a kitchen uniform behind the bar, well shouted at actually "ferme!" Very aggressively and told to go away. Very. Rude people. There are lots of other beautiful places in the valley to go to that are open with great food and friendly staff. Head to sarrancolin to Cafe de France or Cafe Jules. Lovely people and open!
the booking app for Le Mont d'aure also doesn't work so no chance of booking on line or even seeing if it's open.
In short....
