Not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in but not far off and by far, the most odd room, in the loft! I am in my 60's and I was led to the loft attic. Tons of creaking stairs, through a door that said 'Staff only' so I assume this odd room was once staff quarters. The room had a short door but them steps down into the room. (more steps) At first it looked quaint but you can't stand up to urinate, you have to sit down on the toilet that is pushed right into a corner and even sitting down my head was touching the ceiling. Crouching and bending got old really fast. Wi-Fi did not work at all. I came down to reception and she even showed me the router. Even sitting on the stairs right under the wi-fi router I could not get connected at all, so no chance of it reaching the loft / attic room. Next morning the view was the fire damaged rooms at the back of the hotel with part of the car park fenced off. If you can't run a hotel, at least have the decency to shut until you repair all the fire damage. I booked breakfast, but seeing a very sparse selection and cold cuts of meat sitting out with flies walking all over it, put me right off so I just cancelled it. When I checked in she said the room was 99 euros but on check out she insisted on 100 Euros even and rejected any discount for the odd room and Zero wi-fi. Poor staff and a run down fire damaged hotel with, no wi-fi and a very poor looking attempt at breakfast. Carpark looks like a disaster. (My stay...
Read moreThe small hotel was in a great location for experiencing D-Day events in both directions. The reception staff was really friendly. I gave them my last name, and they addressed me by my first without looking at my reservation, as if they had been expecting me; service like that doesn't really exist anymore. The town is small, but it has a convenient store that is open late, and a cafe, bakery, and pub all on the same street within a couple doors of each other. The room was small, but we were only there to sleep. The bathroom was very spacious. The room was rather warm, and we were on the first floor, so keeping the windows open wasn't really an option for us. The beds were comfortable. The hotel has its own restaurant, but we didn't have time to eat there. Overall, a great stay, and would return if...
