We stayed at the hotel and everything was ok- plenty of space, the property is nice and well kept. Also the area is beautiful. Would be good to indicate on the website that for the duplex rooms the bathroom is on the groundfloor. For people that are not that agile during night toilet visits, the narrow stairs might be a challenge.
Review of the restaurant: Easter lunch: Food was very good Service was a mess: we waited 25 min until somebody came to take our order (we had to remind them that we were still to place an order), we asked twice for our water, food came before the drinks, we had to ask for bread ourselves, the first dish came and we had no cuttlery on the table, the second dish came but was for the table near us, 2 tables away a waiter popped a champagne bottle that got everybody wet, the table near us got the check 3 times because it was always incorrect, etc. The service was very lengthy, people were searching for the waiter in the room to ask about their dishes... It's a pitty because the restaurant itself is very nice and the kitchen did a great job but the service was circus...and what was annoying is that the waiters themselves were embarrased and kind of realizing that everything was a mess but there was no chef de salle apologizing or at least aknowledging the...
Read moreBeware of moisture/mold in the 300-range of rooms (souterraine) - we ended up upgrading our booking to a top floor suite. Generally a good hotel - albeit somewhat inflexible due to the Michelin star status; there was plenty of room to seat us, but we had to settle for some cheese for dinner because they had already seated 30 people for dinner and refused to serve any more than that - apparently for "quality reasons".
I have never before been to a restaurant hotel that refuses to serve their paying guests a cooked meal.
I cannot speak for the actual restaurant, because we were never allowed to eat there. There's a decent breakfast buffet - although when my wife asked for an egg white omelet, the answer was a plain NO. When she altered to regulate omelyt, but please add some vegetables to it, the answer was still a resounding NO. Finally she settled for a regular omelet and we will pick up our veggies on the road somewhere.
All in all - this place is advertised as a culinary experience. We experienced a bag of NO. I would give one star but the hotel is generally nice, the bed was comfy and we did enjoy...
Read moreThis is a very quiet, very charming hotel. This is the perfect place looking for those looking for Burgundy charm in a small hotel run by very passionate owners. Every staff member we interacted with was great. The breakfast is amazing - fresh, big selection and delicious. Love the breakfast/bar area. Enjoyed afternoon tea, drinks and dinner her as well. Too cool to swim but we were able to sit on the back patio and enjoy some quiet sun. This is located on a highway so not the best place to tour around by foot (though I did take a gorgeous walk behind the hotel through the vineyards. If you want 5 stars, this is not your place. We loved it. Our room was huge - it was actually 2 rooms (a bedroom and a separate sitting room) and another room was the giant bathroom. We also had a huge balcony looking onto the parking lot and road but the room was very quiet - also had a lovely view of hills and vineyards. Lovely antique furniture. Great to enjoy a traditional lodging in France. Car very much suggested. Great launching point for Beaune...
