We had the full menu x2, 2 dishes a cheese plate and dessert, and a bottle of delicious wine at this restaurant and only had to slip 70€ for the whole evening. Not that this is a bad restaurant at all.. quite the opposite! In my years of restaurant visits I have never had taste explosions like this one. The salad was a beautiful mix of bitter, salt and sweet! And the the rest of the dishes was equally tasteful. Best visit I've ever had. When I return to France.. special emphasis on WHEN, I will definitely be back here again. The restaurant itself is very cozy, you truly feel comfortably at home at their inn. Old French interior and the waiters were most accommodating from ordering, to fixing my dish when I messed up and ordered a dish containing shrooms (as I have allergies towards those damned sponges!)
To top it off, I can assure you, when you leave this restaurant you won't be leaving hungry. And breakfast the next day is petty much taken care of already.
To sum it all up; La Brucelière is plentiful and wonderful. Go there.
One of their waiters speaks better English than the other and they have no problem helping you if you have trouble understanding their menu.

Read moreBeen meaning to come here for ages and finally made it. Gorgeous restaurant set in a gorgeous old stone building just at the edge of the village. The interior is nicely done up has nice white tablecloth settings, quite traditional French.
Food here is also classical French cuisine from the region with hints of flavours from Europe. The menu is seasonal with about 5-6 choices per course. Food here is great and service is also excellent and friendly.
My entree of crayfish and dumpling made with mushrooms was really good. My main was nice but lacked a bit of seasoning. The mash was lovely and not too rich and had bits of sweet potatoes through it. Apple tarte was also lovely.
If you call ahead vegetarian options are made available and they were quite good about it. Wine list is good with lots of wines from the region and cheese tray was great.
All in all a great experience we would happily repeat again. It’s good seasonal cuisine at a...
Read moreThis classic country restaurant makes it worth a trip to Issigeac, France. Two friends and i went without a reservation having reached Issigeac for the first time after a long journey and the staff were very welcoming even though they were fully booked. They set a table on the outdoor patio for us and treated us like their preferred customers. Eating on the terrace was very refreshing after the long day. To add to the excellent service and perfect casual ambience, the food was fabulous. With my limited French language I chose the chicken with mushroom gravy as the main course and the warm chocolate cake for dessert. Great service and soul-satisfying food made for a most delightful evening. We returned a few evenings later and enjoyed the experience as much as the first time. We recommend making...
