The restaurant has an entering that dates back a couple of decades. There is hardly enough room for their dishes and the freezer and the glasses for the ice cream. The couple that serves is very enthusiastic and friendly. They do not explain really what the concept is, which could be worrying. You get soup, a charcuterie platter, a main dish, cheese and dessert.. this is the menu of the day.. there is nothing else. All were very tasty and honest dishes. The ice cream at the end was huge and the coffee (outside the menu) was strong and tastefully. Oh I forgot, you get red and rose wine if you want (part of the menu). We also had an aperitief which of course not include. I believe the menu was 17.50 Euro/person... We had to eat inside because the weather was not too great, but you can eat outside as well. Don't expect too much from the garden though. Anyway, a friendly place with amazing price-quality and cosy atmosphere. If we are in the area we will...

A truely authentic French eating experience. You turn up and the fixed menu de jour is a FIVE course journey exploring real local recipes plus a large glass of wine each! We started with a local version of minestrone soup, followed by an extravagant plate of charcuterie, on to beautifully cooked, thinly sliced roast beef and veg. This was then chased by a selection of cheeses and finished with a choice of desserts. I guarantee that you won’t leave hungry. All of this for only 16€50. You can tell how good it is by the number of locals who are clearly regular customers. The Monsieur and Madame who run it are efficient and provide high quality food at an unbelievable price. My advice : go, sit back and enjoy the food and the ambiance. And when you see the extremely reasonable bill, leave a large well deserved tip for the extremely hard...

A very very good dining experience.

We paid €17.50 pp for an incredible 5 course meal at lunch. First up was a lovely Minestrone style soup, then Mussels and Cold Cuts. Followed by Plat du jour of Confeit du Carnard and then ice cream. (There was a cheese course included but we were full) all the food was delightful as was the service. The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly.

I would use the Google "busy" system to check hours as the online hours are not quite right.

But if you are in the South Bergerac area...

What an amazing place, very good value, in no way rushed - 5 courses all delicious - staff were charming and attentive, the restaurant was full by 12.30 which is always good sign, I would highly recommend. Would go back but we are not here for long enough. Thank you

Quelle belle surprise que cette halte gargantuesque !!! Menu unique en 6 actes (ou 7...?) !
