My room reminded me of a 70s student bedsit. They are badly in need of updating. The furniture was just random pieces. The room had no charm whatsoever.||The bed was inches off the floor.||The floor was covered in poorly fitted fibre matting which felt uncomfortable to walk on.||The bathroom required you to be a contortionist to use properly and bits were missing from the toilet fittings.||The curtains are too thin to keep out the floodlighting used to highlight the outside of the hotel.||The whole room experience felt substandard. ||||The dinner was better. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated.||There are two fixed price menus. We had the more expensive 'Gourmond'. We enjoyed our food but it was nothing exceptional. ||The wine list was varied but overpriced at about 5* cost. ||The hotel does not offer mineral water but instead is 'proud to offer' slightly unpleasant, filtered tap water at 5 euros a litre. ||The thing that spoiled the meal was that it was served so quickly. 4 courses plus 2 amuse bouches in less than an hour. Way too fast!||As stated by other reviewers, the service was extremely curt. There was no interaction with the two wait staff. We weren't even asked if we'd enjoyed our meal. The staff stayed in the kitchen when they weren't actually bringing out food.||Strange behaviour.||||At nearly 200 euros for a very poor room and a merely ok dinner, this hotel is way overpriced. ||||One last thing, the town is being remodelled and there is noisy work going on directly outside the hotel. Don't expect a lie-in for...

My husband had pork's tongue as a starter (tastes better than it sounds!) followed by the same mains. The cooking for the meat was perfect, as we asked. And it tasted so delicious. We had a bottle of local cider with this, and it was a very good choice. The menu had a choice of meats, fish and sides. It was simple but varied.||They made beef burger (in France, this is a favourite meal for children) and chips. However, the burger was very rare for the little ones and they didn't have it. ||We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the service, but we had to unfortunately decline dessert as the children were getting impatient. ||We would definitely go back there again, if we find...
