Restaurant Le Hors-Pistes — Restaurant in Bonneville

I had lunch at Le Hors-Pistes this Sunday (2 February 2025) near 12pm and I had a disappointing experience regarding the treatment from one young lady. I arrived, waited to be seated (the lady who took me to the table was very polite and welcoming and gave me the menu to take a look), I spoke in French, was polite, went by the book. However, when a second young lady came with pen and paper to greet me and take my order, I was also extremely polite, greeted her, and said I would like to have a burger and a beer (everything in French). This moment, the lady was very impolite with me, saying that is not how it should work, I should first order a drink and then 5 minutes later she would come by and ask for the food, almost gave me a speech. I was very confused because this had never happened anywhere in the world with me, specially in France, where people are always very welcoming and polite. I did not say anything back to her, remained treating her nicely but I really don’t believe there is a serious problem in asking your food and drink at the same time. Some people want to eat quicker and go back skiing, like the woman behind me at the queue did, she was also alone, she sat, ordered her food to a different person in 1 minute and even left before me. Some people just want to have a coffee, others just a desert, there isn’t a law deciding what is the correct order to eat or whatsoever. This place is excellent!! My family and I spent a week skiing and without a doubt this has been the best place we have stopped to eat, we liked it so much that we have even repeated a few days. The food is excellent and so is the staff. Everyone is very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is cozy. Just off piste at the top of a convenient lift. Lovely roaring fire and very friendly staff. We had our young son with us and the staff were very accommodating and helpful.
