MORUES & TAPAS — Restaurant in Bordeaux

This cozy little spot in an area rarely frequented by tourists is a hidden gem. The staff is extremely friendly and the chef has put together a menu with a huge selection of tapas as well as full meal items The restaurant is Portuguese tapas as opposed to the more common Spanish tapas.

We ordered the beef ribs (pictured) for the kids and they were huge and very reasonably priced. We ordered several tapas (mushrooms are a must) to include the Portuguese chorizo. The chorizo tasted great but my only gripe about the whole experience was that the chorizo was very over cooked (sliced and pan-fried to a crispness leaving no juiciness or tenderness).

Our server went above and beyond and was very knowledgeable and spoke great English to accommodate us.

Don’t miss this place. Super affordable, delicious, and a large variety of Portuguese food...

Ce restaurant est incroyable ! C’est l’assurance de passer un bon moment dans une ambiance très conviviale, très intimiste ! Les plats y sont excellents, c’est frais, fait maison et on ressent la générosité dans l’assiette, le service est lui aussi très agréable. Les prix ne sont pas excessifs et le chef, qui passe faire un tour dans la salle en fin de service s’intéresse aux retours des clients, il est vraiment très sympathique, pose des questions et échange très naturellement, il porte qui lui l’envie de faire plaisir à travers sa cuisine simple aux accents portugais. Première fois que j’y vais, j’ai découvert cet endroit grace à ma femme qui y est déjà aller plusieurs fois, de l’extérieur ne paie pas de mine mais c’est un bonheur de s’y rendre ! The waiter doesn’t speak much English, but he did a great job trying to explain everything on the menu and was very friendly. The food though, that was absolutely incredible. The crispy pork was possibly the best I’ve ever had, and I will for sure be going back....
