Fort des Caps — Restaurant in Boulogne-sur-Mer

This restaurant is anything but welcoming. We arrived around 6:00 PM with four people, and it was almost empty, apart from a few occupied tables. Our French isn’t great, so we asked if they spoke English. A few words were said in English, but we were not given a table. There was a lot of discussion among the staff, even some muttering about “the boss” or something like that, but nothing happened. In the end, we didn’t get a table. Was it because we didn’t speak French? No idea, but this restaurant certainly doesn’t deserve a star.

2 ème essai dans cet établissement .. nous avons été très bien accueilli , le service était bien aussi sauf peut être a la fin et voilà pourquoi.. Niveau plats, je dirai qu'il vaut mieux s'appeler brasserie avec des plats simples mais savoureux que s'appeler restaurant avec des assiettes qui manquent de subtilité . Mon conjoint a pris des huîtres (6), il en a mangé 5 mais la dernière odeur de vase ( ça arrive à tous) il en a 3 nouvelles ( belle attention) mais malheureusement à la 1ere mise en bouche il a du recracher et la seconde ouverte n'était pas fraîche non plus, il n'a donc pas insisté .. pour ma part, j'ai pris un menu plaisir , et franchement c'était pas terrible du tout l'entrée tartelette escargot comté était en faite une quiche aux lardons avec peut être du comté a l'intérieur et juste des escargots posés dessus le tout passé au four trop longtemps , franchement aucun intérêt pas de goût , et mon plat poêlee de st jacques penne aux girole , c'était grossier et les st jacques pas assez cuite. Je pense clairement qu'il vaut mieux prendre des plats de brasserie genre burger ou poulet maroile qui avaient l'air bon ou encore le plat du jour pour lequel monsieur était satisfait. Had takeaway pizza and frites and was delicious. Kids and adults loved the food and very good portions and great price. Didn't eat in but might do next time as dogs are allowed and there was a great draft beer and cider selection as well as a good looking wine menu and spirits for those interested.
