Le Relais de Bourges — Restaurant in Bourges

This is one of the best Routiers in France, that I've been in, the truck park is massive catering for over 100 trucks, the parking area is very clean with bins or rubbish bags in abundance to put your rubbish in, it has a toilet facility at the entrance to the truck park opposite the restaurant building which is handy for drivers caught short during the night, they have no excuse for using the truck park as a toilet, having said that this place doesn't seem to attract that sort of clientele as most of the trucks in the truck park are French registered, Inside the main building the bar area has ample space for drivers to relax, the staff through out the main building are very friendly and try to be as helpful as possible for none french nationals who don't speak the language, There is 2 restaurants, 1 for table service Salle Brasserie And 1 for the truckers Salle Routiers The routier part is very spacious and can accommodate every driver who is parked in the truck park, The menu costs €16.90 which is reasonable in the present cost of living crisis, Starters: There's a good selection of salads, cold meats & pate there is something for everyone. You can help yourself to wine or water in this area as well, The main course has a choice of about 6 to 8 meals The desert also has a choice of about 6 desserts. There is 6 showers in the toilet area so even at the busy times you don't have to wait long for a shower, there is also enough sinks so you won't wait long to shave and brush your teeth either. The place is kept clean 👌

Even at lunch time this place is full of clients.

All in all this is a very well run well kept Routiers from the truck park to the restaurant and everything in between, It's up there with the best of them 😉.

For restaurant customers there is a large paid parking lot for trucks.

From Monday to Friday you can drink good coffee. The kitchen is open two hours at noon and two in the evening.

Everything is closed at night including the toilet. I do not recommend stopping here on weekends because there are no sanitary facilities nearby. (I hope someone will take care of this and provide at least access to a toilet...

Un restaurant routiers, ou il faut vraiment s'arrêter, des rillettes et une terrines de campagne faites maison et vraiment délicieuse, un buffet très riche et variés (à volonté) Charcuterie, crudités, poisson, huîtres etc..... Un très joli buffet, mon fils à pris un hamburger maison dresses et généreusement garni avec des produits de fermiers locaux, pour ma part j'ai choisi un Jarret de porc grillé, je pouvais sentir la fraîcheur, il n'avait pas le goût de goraille de la viande qui a un peu de vécu dans les frigos, mon fils à pris une glace en dessert et moi une mousse au chocolat maison, et ce n'était pas du chimique non, des blancs en neige bien montés, un chocolat noir bien marqué, même si j'aurais souhaité un chocolat amer plus soutenu pour plus de profondeur en bouche, mais l'essentiel était bel et bien là plus un café, le plaisir d'échanger avec le patron et la patronne que j'ai félicité pour leur table en donnant deux, trois conseils. Une chose est sûre, lorsque je repasserai dans le secteur, se sera un plaisir de retrouver ce routier sympa et finir notre conversation, tout en espérant et j'en suis sûr retrouver des produits fait maison.
