My friend and I shared a room from the 8th of February to 16th February 2020. On the whole, we enjoyed the stay very much, with skiing our main priority. All of the staff were very helpful throughout, with Jerome, the owner, being especially accommodating. He drove us on our first morning to the centre of Briancon, taking us to our ski rental shop and also the ski pass area. He also identified that we were muslim, and offered halal food in the restaurant on multiple occasions, with us eating 4 times at the restaurant. We ate Chicken creole curry with rice and lentils, duck with vegetables and potatoes, and fish with chips and vegetables, and a swordfish curry. The highlight was the duck. All the food was great, and we felt very comfortable at the hotel. Jerome was very accommodating with dinner, often letting us book very late in the day, often with not much notice.||Other positives of the hotel were its location. It is high up on the mountain, with a great view (although we had a room on the wrong side), with a 10 minute walk (a fair amount of it uphill) to Prorel 1 ski lift, which then gives you great access to the slopes. Having easy access to the slopes helped alot, and meant we were very independent. One downside of this was access to Briancon, with us requiring Willik (equivalent of Uber) to get to and from Briancon, which costed approx 7 euros a trip.||As for the room itself, it was fairly small. We didn't spend alot of time in the room, so didn't really bother us. There was also no daily clean/ room service, which again we weren't bothered by really, but is nice to know. ||For the first few days of the trip, there was also no wifi in the rooms, however a few days into the trip, an extender was installed, which changed matters.||As for price, for the stay, it was very reasonable given the location. It wasn't the flashiest of hotels, but we felt at home, and it was...

Read moreWe spent 2 nights mid week at Auberge Catherine and enjoyed our stay. We were the only guests , which did mean we had a very personal service and warm welcome from the family who have taken over the establishment early this year. I have the feeling that the new owners have not been in the hotel business for long and are working hard to create a new atmosphere.|| The hotel met expectations for a simple, unpretentious establishment. The rooms are not big, and I think we may even have had one of the larger ones - fine for our short stay, but not equipped for work (no desk. Our room has a small balcony looking over the village and mountains, ). Clean and comfortable beds, good bathroom, good internet connection. Admittedly a little on the expensive side for the size and quality of the rooms, but it seems to be in range with other hotels in the region.||The breakfast was good- we were offered choice of classic continental or savoury. The banana bread was a delicious extra with the croissants and pain au chocolat. We enjoyed the creole dishes in the restaurant, a nice change from the normal menus of the region.|| It was a lovely quiet place, near enough Briancon but away from the crowds- good hikes nearby and easy driving to magnificent...
