We visited this restaurant with relatively high hopes having eaten here several years ago. It was a terrible disappointment. We waited over 30 minutes to order, then around an hour more for food (sitting outside in the cold). Eventually we noticed that people had received their food who had arrived after us - no-one seemed particularly interested, but eventually they said that there was 'a problem withe the grill' which seemed unlikely as everyone as had been served food. When it came the food was just OK - given the high prices. We have eaten at many mountain restaurants in the region and it didn't compare well. Only the man running the kitchen was at all apologetic, offering dessert on the house, but this didn't make up for two hours wasted out of our ski day (we had visited Serre Chevalier just for the day.). On top of that, two of us had stomach upsets afterwards, and while I can't be sure this was the cause, we had not eaten out anywhere else...

This is a great small venue, located off a very small side piste, so quite quiet with a nice view. You get to it by going up the Vallons chairlift.||This is a restaurant with table service only and as it only has a small terrace, I’d recommend booking - note that we didn’t have to give a deposit as per another users suggestion (we were 7).||They do two sittings (ours was at 13.45) but the table was ready as soon as we got there on time. The terrace catches the sun perfectly, so it’s a great spot for a lazy lunch.||And it’s needs to be lazy - it’s not the place for a quick pitstop eat. The service was great but is typically french and laid back, especially as its busy.||Food was really good, no one had a bad meal. The dauphinoise potatoes were excellent and the meats are cooked on an open fire indoors so really tasty. Quite a small menu but most people should find something they like, including a couple of...

This is a nice and cosy place with good food, not doubt about it. We were a big group (15 persons) and we understand it can be difficult to accommodate such a group, but there is no need to be rude and argue with the guests that they need to finish the food in due time since a new group is coming later in the afternoon. This is what happened to us and an improvement would be appreciated.|Compliments to the chef because the food was great in all aspects. Big portions of good tasting dishes of high quality. One could feel the pride the chef put in the food, so credit to the chef. Service leaves more to ask for, as well as the prices. But a place worth visiting...

Stopped for lunch when skiing. Excellent food and lovely location but service is severely lacking. We had booked in advance and our table was empty when we arrived but it took 20 minutes for it to be cleared and set. Another 10 minutes to order a drink, another 15 minutes to take our food order. No check backs afterwards, and a huge amount of grumpiness when we ordered a second round of drinks. We had to keep waving and getting up to get attention. Shame. We had heard great things but we will never go back. Note that the menu is limited so check there is something you like first. Not cheap.

Update: I was here again in 2023 and this place has, by far, the best food in the slopes. Make sure to call and reserve a table for lunch! Fantastic food and service. We had the dish of the day which was really really good. Usually the quality of the food at the restaurants in the slopes is nothing remarkable, but this place really stood out. They also have a really friendly and cute dog which was another reason this was our go to place! Will swing by next time I’m in Serre Chevalier!

Disappointed, booked a table for 2, we were basically in the fireplace. We thought we were going to be cooked for lunch. We asked to be moved which was not received well. The food is good to be fair but the organization leaves a lot to be desired!
