A La Bonne Table — Restaurant in Calvi

This is a very cool place. A totally crazy looking guy, who is the Chef, welcomes you. Everything looks strange and funny here. There is no menu, you will get a surprise. So leave all rules behind and await what you will get. The food is prepared with love and typical corse, you will be surprised. We started with cheese and cucambers. Followed by baked Zucchini. Very tasty and freshly made just in a kitchen in front of you. The main dish was mussels, and baked Zucchini. Even though I do no like mussels that much I have to admit, very tasty. The Chef speaks only french, so you should speak french as well for communication. We cannot speak french, so we guessed most things. There is also a very friendly dog who likes all food 😉 As desert we received corte cookies and ice cream. That was a cool experience with extraordinary good food at low prices....

Not sure what all the positive reviews found in this place. We were mostly confused. Food is mediocre at best. The presentation of the food is life this: You get empty plates and the chef brings tons of food to your table. Like he has them in his fridge or oven and brings them to all kinds of guests and what you don't eat, the next table will. That makes the presentation awful and you don't really want to eat it. And then the food wasn't super delicious. Just mediocre. Anyway, ,other people in the reviews seemed to like it. I just want to warn those who see the high reading, they will be disappointed if their main goal is something else than just getting a lot. Also the price is then quite high for...

Doudou and Scooby-Doo welcome you with open arms and paws at this cozy spot tucked away in Lumio. Doudou is the owner, host, server and cook at this brightly decorated restaurant that offers a surprise sampling menu. He even says on his sign, if you don't like surprises, you probably won't like it here. And I LOVE surprises.

Everything was super delicious and for the 35 Euros it cost, it did not disappoint. He even brought over an extra dessert at the end.
