A Rotta — Restaurant in Calvi

Been there twice now even before the season begins - very nice place, great location, very nice selected music in the background and while the evenings are still a bit cold, they have a nice fire facility next to my favorite table. The food was very good both times - first evening I had a very tender milk goat as a main course, second evening linguini with vongole - delicious! Delicious starters, delicious desserts and the most amazing thing at A Rotta (and maybe a reason to come more often): There is one of the best young ladies in service I ever realized in a restaurant. She is sooooooo absolutely friendly, with the brightest smile, with so much attention, charming, again smiling, very knowledgeable - I've been working in hotel and restaurant business for more than 50 years but this kind of service is an exception nowadays - you want to consider to go there again, just to see this beautiful smile - I am so very much amazed. But you need to go there on weekends, because she told me, that she's only working on Fridays and Saturdays. So 2 thumps up for the food and location - all thumps up...

3 étoiles alors que cela méritait 5 .. Nous arrivons avec mon mari et mon bb dans ce sublime restaurant que l'on nous à fortement recommandé depuis notre arrivée. "Un restaurant bord de plage, un cadre sympathique" Nous avions réservé pour 19h et nous avions été prévenu de bien arrivé à l'heure. Bien entendu. Nous nous présentons à 19h, on nous place à notre table magnifiquement ensoleillée. Le soleil du mois d'août étant comme le connaissez, et étant dans un restaurant bord de plage, je décide de m'habiller en jupe taille haute blanche qui descend jusqu'au genoux et en haut : un large bandeau noir style "croc top", des chaussure plate nue pieds. Je pensait être chic et décontractée... étant donné qu'on est en train de cramer !! La serveuse viens me voir : "avez vous un t-shirt ?! Je reste stupéfaite et laisse un silence puis elle poursuit : " En général quand on vient au restaurant on met un t-shirt..."  elle part voir sa responsable. Je décide d'aller voir l'équipe qui discute à mon sujet ... je me demande si je vais être virée du restaurant !! Je prends mon courage à deux mains et les rejoinds dans leur discution. Je leur dit que je ne suis pas dutout à l'aise à présent, et que je préfère partir si je ne conviens pas au "dress code", je leur dis que n'ayant pas dutout de poitrine mon badeau est un t shirt (j'essaye un peu d'humour, ça devient ridicule...) qu'il aurait fallu le dire au téléphone lors de la réservation... Je reste devant une responsable froide/silencieuse et gênée de mon discours. Je demande à être rassurée car je me sens pas bien. On me répond "ca va ça va ..." Mon avis est déjà beaucoup trop long mais je termine en disant quand même que nous avons bien dîné, mais cette expérience reste amer et à gâché le moment qui aurait pu être bien plus agréable.... Nice view and the waiters gave excellent service. However, they don't accept credit cards at all which seem conspicuous in our days, and makes the customers feel like criminals, because they can't pay the bill. The food was below average for the area. If you only want a drink, you are not allowed a table with a view, and are confined to an area in the shadow and without a whiff of wind, but an excellent collection of insects and wild birds who eat them. And, surprisingly, they closed at the middle of the day, even though they had confirmed the opening hours just three...
