L'Alivu — Restaurant in Calvi

We stopped for dinner with our 4 children. The place is charming and the food was really delicious. The staff were nice but the service was very slow. More to that, a bad surprise came at the end with the bill. For the bottle of Patrimonio wine which was supposed to cost 18€ according to the menu, we were charged 35€. When we asked for the reason why, the staff said that we were given a 0,7 l bottle instead of the 0,5 l presented on the menu, but they didn’t explain why it cost almost the double. We didn’t want to argue and we paid, but I suppose things like this...

Ok, I was expecting some sort of traditional recipes with a reasonable low price, being far from the coast, well it's not like that. They offer a decent daily menu but it can't be shared (why?), each person has to take the entire menu for 21€ and every extra will be paid dearly (i.e. 14€ for some overcooked linguine). Too much for a "epicerie snack". Good view on the...

Après une ballade à Saint Florent, nous souhaitions déjeuner dans un endroit authentique, aux vraies saveurs locales, sans chichi et avec l'amour du cuisto pour ses produits. Nous avons été plus que comblés ! Nous savions que nous mangerions bien d'après les avis des internautes, en revanche, ce que nous ne savions pas, c'est que nous découvririons deux personnes plus que passionnées, entières et qui se donnent à fond pour faire plaisir aux gens. Et cela en tout point : cuisine, accueil, échanges humains... Que cela fait du bien ! Nous sommes restés bien plus longtemps que prévu tellement nous nous sentions bien. Une belle découverte ! Merci Ange et Michèle pour ce moment, c'est beau de voir que des personnes font encore les choses avec amour et non pas que pour le fric. Bravo bravo bravo !
