My wife and I dined at "La Table Di Mà" in July 2022. This was our first visit to this gourmet restaurant in Lumio.
Service: We were received nicely. Throughout the evening the team was very kind and obliging. I liked the atmosphere very much which I would describe as professional and attentive.
Food: There were two different menus on offer and one could have also ordered "à la carte". One menu had a focus on fish and seafood. We opted for the other, a bit cheaper menu with a basically classic composition and sequencing.
The menu was very thoroughly arranged. I found the interpretations of the dishes relatively modern and quite ambitious. The level was constantly very high, there were no shortcomings. I was very pleased with the range and depth of flavors.
Wine: The wine accompaniment was excellent. It was a very careful and devoted selection of outstanding Corsican wines. I had never heard of the grape varieties in several cases. I would describe the style as varied and ambitious but still very accessible. All wines tasted at least very good and went very well with the dishes.
Presentation: I found the presentation of the dishes and components very good: Colours and decorations were mostly quite restrained. The textures were remarkable in only one or perhaps two cases. The presentation included four or five simple surprise effects and one or two simple sculptural elements. Apart from those, no noteworthy "special effects" were included. However, the processes at and around the table were comprehensive and quite outstanding. With very high and changing personnel, many procedures were almost choreographed - but did not seem exaggerated at all. In addition, in several cases components were added to dishes at the table and one could say that the main course was partly built at the table. The aromatic structure of the dishes has been sufficiently explained in all cases. We were led through the menu perhaps a little bit too fast. I found the portions comparatively large but still unobtrusive, as - aside from a small amuse, a pre-dessert and confiserie - the menu consisted of only five courses.
The presentation of the wines by the sommelier was excellent: Very informative and convincing and always with nice attunements. I would describe the style as mostly classical and narrative.
Premises: We were very well seated outside on the restaurant's terrace. This is nicely styled and offered - in our case - a view across the sea to Calvi. It hardly bothered me that the elevated terrace lied next to the main road through the village.
Price: The price was definitely higher than comparable restaurants on the mainland. But it is, of course, an island and a tourist region. Moreover, the high staffing may justify a slightly higher price.
To sum up, I would say that the restaurant offered a very convincing performance. If we happen to visit Corsica again, we will certainly consider another visit at La...
Read moreLovely but pricey experience. I had a wonderful time, my eyes and my palate were very pleased but my review is written with the perspective of having spent 250€ per person.
The food was honestly very good. Lots of surprising and uncommon locally sourced ingredients. The paired wines were good and all from Corsica, but I wished there had been less white wines (3-3 instead of 4-2).
The atmosphere is really nice. Unfortunately it's close to the road and a few houses are obstructing a bit the view on...
