Stop! If you’re passing on the Autoroute des Pyrénées treat yourself to what we had the good fortune to find - perhaps the best Entrecôte steak and chips you may eat in your life, no kidding!

We found out that Le Moulin Vert has become famous for its wood grilled open fire cooking, we were there for Sunday lunch and this big out of town premises was packed (out of season) so most probably with locals. Service was very friendly and the prices were more than fair for such superb meat, you can get a menu for €38 that includes the steak and an excellent choice of staters and a decent dessert. Just a quick note for those who may be thinking they should have the local specialty, Cassoulet. The menu mentions the cassoulet offered is produced locally but not in house- the menu stresses their focus on the wood fire grilling. See photos for an idea of the...

When driving through the Toulouse area, a friend said we should have the Cassoulet, and when we googled it, we found this place among others. There is a great atmosphere here, staff were welcoming and the food, well, you need to come here and try for yourself. From the mussels to the cassoulet, including the chicken nuggets for the kids, everything was amazing. It was hard to get on the road after having such an...
