I'm comparing it to what it used to be with the previous owner... The new waiting staff still have a lot to learn. It's still a "show off, dress up" place. They offer a wide selection of cocktails from their bar area, tapas (as it used to be), but the restaurant menu is limited, no lunch or dinner formulas (this used to be a great value-for-money here with the previous owner, beautifully served etc). We had to wait for almost an hour for somebody to take interest in us after the dinner service stopped and when the "chabada bada" (ie cocktails and drinks) started - to be told by the sommelier that it's no problem for us to finish a bottle of wine (this is around 00:30) as they're open until at least 1:30, and then the manager, or a person who acted like one, came to us at around 1:00 telling us it's time to go, almost kicking us out... There's a huge room for improvement. We will definitely come back next Easter or summer to see if anything changes, but it's not as good as it used to be which is...
Read moreThe Villa and Jardin are beautiful. The restaurant is set in the garden and the ambience is beautiful. The service was very friendly and everyone helped with our poor French. The wine list is extensive. The food looked gorgeous but was slightly uneven. The entrée fish and haricort vert salad had great flavors but lacked an identity, it was a collection of flavors rather than a dish. The other entrée was rabbit and this too was uneven - it was yogurt, cucumber and parsley dominant and the rabbit just added some texture. The plates especially the cochon were fabulous. The berry dessert was okay - again, some interesting flavors but no unifying identity. The chocolate mousse was fantastic - the coffee foam and the deep, dark chocolate mousse were the perfect compliment.
Overall, amazing ambience, very friendly service, and good food! Definitely...
Read morePrice is high but everything was excellent. Food was great, service as well. We booked one of the only 3 pool houses (they only have 3 to limit the number of people at the pool) and the pool was great too. I would have give it 5 stars without a blink if it wasn't for the foul smell from what it seems some kind of winery next door.||It is sad they invested so much money to make a perfect place when they have this big problem with the smell next door. There is lots of old farms you can buy for a discount everywhere around this location and they would never have had this problem. Maybe this happens only certain time of the year, then you can have a fantastic experience going there, but if like us you come at a time where you have this stench, you will...
