What to say Restaurant Beau Rivage, it it has an excellent location within a traditional French village, a beautiful of the rive, from which if you are lucky, can see a herd of white cows pasturing. We can certainly highlight the quality of their traditional French cuisine (with marginally steep prices for the region), nonetheless, before going to the restaurant we made a reservation, where we explicitly asked for the possibility of having a vegetarian option for one of our entourage, to which they replied: bien sûr.

Once we arrive, the atmosphere was great, lots of people enjoying a want summer evening. Glasses of wine were coming and going, the service was nice and approachable, doing their best to attend to everyone. Our first dishes came in a timely manner, and we remembered then that one of our group was vegetarian.

The entrance for each guest was superb, nonetheless, the vegetarian salad was of standard quality, lacking the deliciousness of a good French dressing, nonetheless, nothing major to mention about it.

Trouble started when the main dishes arrived. The non-vegetarian options were great, beautifully garnished, with amazing sauce, colours and flavours, but once again the vegetarian option was beyond flawed. In contrast the greatness of the dishes with meat and fish, our friend got a meager plate the size of an ashtray with one single serving gratin dauphinois. There was not presentation or effort whatsoever. When faced with the critique the said it was the fault of the chef and that they didn't have vegetarian options (despite saying they would make it possible on the phone).

Afterwards they came with two portion of gratin dauphinois and 4 grilled tomatoes, this was not a major improvement but we were hungry, so we had to take it (at least we didn't pay for this dish).

We think the te restaurant is good, nonetheless, the lack of touch while presenting the vegetarian option, really took down our general appreciation...

Places like this make you wish there was a way to give zero stars. Not only were the food and service among the worst I've experienced in my life, but a wide open view of the kitchen was nearly enough to put my party and I off our meal altogether. The cook was constantly coughing (more like hacking), wiping his nose, and sneezing into his open hand the entirety of our visit. One of the most unsanitary, unprofessional places I've seen. In the era of covid-19, I am absolutely terrified that places like this are allowed to continue...
