Restaurant Le Pérou — Restaurant in Chambéry

Unbelievably good!

In the 2 weeks we’ve been on holiday, Le Pérou just excelled with everything over the competition. We were greeted warmly by staff and the owner, and were shown our seats.

After receiving the menu’s, we’ve been proposed traditional cocktails, which were very reasonably priced (5,-) and were a joy to drink. We then ordered and got some nice nacho’s with homemade guacamole, that was nice.

The entry dishes blew us away. We had the Cheviche Peru, and Cheviche Carretllero. They looked amazing, and so high quality. Every bite was a party.

After that, we’ve ordered half a bottle of wine. We’ve been presented with a regional Savoie wine, and were happily suprised. The main dishes arrived and again it was to write home about. Amazing texture, great flavours, just passion. What you see in the food, is also resonating with the decor of the restaurant, as well as the passion of the owner / staff. Everyone’s highly professional and very motivated.

After the Pescado a la macho and Aji de Pollo, we were thrilled to have a dessert. And as expected, they were a beaut. Just as they look, taste was key and we’ve enjoyed every moment. Nous avons visité le restaurant Le Pérou pour la deuxième fois, cette fois-ci à l'occasion de la fête des amoureux, le 14 février. J'avais vu une publicité en ligne pour un menu spécial à 65 euros, incluant un verre de vin.

Premier point : à notre arrivée, nous avons remarqué que le verre de vin n'était plus mentionné sur le menu, et qu'il avait été caché par du blanc. Surprise, je demande des explications et on me répond que le restaurant a refait ses calculs et que cela n'est plus rentable. Comment peut-on annoncer un menu avec un verre de vin sur internet et l'annuler au dernier moment ?

Nous avons finalement pris une bouteille de vin en attendant. À la demi-bouteille, nous avons dû rappeler la serveuse pour savoir où en était notre repas. Nous avions réservé pour 21h, mais la mise en bouche n'est arrivée qu'après 45 minutes d'attente. Mon compagnon a dû demander des nouvelles, et la réponse fut simplement : "On vous a oubliés". Ensuite, les plats se sont enchaînés rapidement, sans nous laisser le temps de les apprécier.

Petite remarque : le cochon mariné était trop salé.

J'avais appelé en amont pour signaler que le dessert du menu ne me convenait pas. On m'avait assuré qu'il n'y avait aucun problème, et qu'il suffirait de le signaler à notre arrivée. Mais à notre arrivée, quelle surprise ! On m'a dit que c'était impossible et on m'a proposé une boule de glace en remplacement. Pour un menu à 65 euros, c'est décevant. Après quelques échanges, on m'a finalement trouvé un autre dessert disponible, mais cela n'a pas été simple.

J'ai tenté de joindre la responsable pour discuter de cette expérience, mais je n'ai eu aucun retour, ni par téléphone, ni via les réseaux sociaux. C'est vraiment dommage, car nous étions enthousiastes à l'idée de revenir. Cette expérience laisse...

Delicious well presented and imaginative menu. The decor and ambiance was lovely. Our table had a selection from the menu and everyone was very happy. The Ceviche was outstanding. There is a children’s option that my 7year old really enjoyed (chicken goujons, popcorn chicken, corn dog and fries) as well as a baby menu which was excellent and my one year old loved it (fish and mashed potatoes).
