La Causerie des Lilas. Centre Historique — Restaurant in Charleville-Mézières

We had some difficulty in pinpointing a spot to start in the Ardennes. We picked this village somewhat on a lark, in order to view the ruins of the Chateau above, and due to its proximity to Camp Romain (a hike nearby, leading to view of Vereux-Molhain and Vereux-Wallerand. So there is the context. We (wife, adult son and I) had not eaten so we decided to stop by this cafe, as it was open at noon. We ordered the tomato and mozzarella salad, my son ordered a sausage plate, my wife ordered a tarte IIRC, and I got a beef skewer. The food was cooked outside, right in front of us, on a wood burning grill, and the server was efficient and hilarious. Me and a friend stopped by for lunch at this restaurant on our tour through the French Ardennes. I was rather surprised to read the negative references here, as we had a very positive experience at the restaurant. The food was very nice (I had the 'Andouillette à la ficelle' - which I can only recommended!) Avoid, they have still not refunded my deposit after Nine Months. They change their response every time you email them, and attempt to mock our leaving the eu ( cheek considering the French owe their Liberty to us).
