We got a warm greeting here, the owners are really great people and popular with the locals. We arrived with a vintage vehicle and the owner immediately offered the use of his garage guarded by a very large dog. I booked Le Phenix as i wanted to try 13 Arches Restaurant but happy to sleep on a budget as this was a 'Boys trip'. Le Phenix is firstly a bar, with a restaurant and offers takeaway pizzas. They also have rooms which are clean but incredibly dated and tired, a romantic break is not advised as your legs are in the bedroom whilst sat on the toilet and the beds are small doubles (but comfortable). The shower has no hanger so it's a case of soak, lather and rinse but it was powerful which was good. We were on the top floor and there was quite a lot of noise coming from people drinking outside the bar, (we had been those people earlier) but this place is a bar. Breakfast was good and the general consensus around the table was that we'd enjoyed Le Phenix largely due to location...

Other neighbouring tables receiving wrong orders on a fairly quiet day. Years ago this was a good eatery but improving decor whilst increasing prices and abandoning service is not a winning formula. Get a grip - sack the staff , put in a service system that works and you may just save your business. But what do I know ? I sold my food business...
