La Grenouillère — Restaurant in Clamecy

You can eat very well here and I can certainly recommend the mussels and chips. I was surprised to see someone complained about 'les frites' which I have always found to be very good indeed. The beef steaks are excellent. I've never tried the frogs' legs. It's true, la patronne is certainly no bundle of fun, it's just her way, don't take it personally. We have always found that a few words of praise soften her up enormously and she has been known to smile sometimes! As a couple we are French and Welsh and we speak French so I suppose it helps if you make at least some attempt to speak French. We live not far away and eat here fairly regularly, about once every two months, and we will certainly be going back! ...

Found this restaurant by pure luck . Excellent food. I had the escargots , frog legs and nougat glacé . My husband had the mussels with Roquefort. Both of our dishes included yummy fries. And mine also had a small salad with the most tender leaves & watercress . All the dishes were nicely flavoured. Our waitress, and the owner were welcoming . I would drive there again . Only 37 minutes...

Je laisse ce commentaire car j ai voulu reserver par téléphone une table pour 4, accueil déplorable de cette personne !!!! Je n ai jamais vu cela. Je demande une table si possible en terrasse pour 20h et on me répond Ouii mais soyez à l heure sinon J'annulerai votre réservation!!! comme si j etais une ado Très surprise de cette réaction je lui répond en lui disant que ce n'est pas la peine de se fâcher que je serais à l'heure et a pris la décision d'annuler directement la réservation m'a raccrochée au nez. Étant moi-même restauratrice, Je n'arrive pas à comprendre ce comportement, en regardant les avis de ce restaurant je m'aperçois que beaucoup reviennent avec l'accueil désagréable de la patronne. Madame j'ai peut-être une solution pour vous, peut-être que vous n aimez plus votre metier, allez vous cacher en plonge cela évitera que les clients soient déçus de votre...
