This is such a gorgeous hotel, our room was so cute. Lots of wood everywhere, very German in style. The staff very friendly, pleasant and professional. We booked half board and the menu was set, displayed every morning in the elevator, no choices but if there was anything you did not want you just have to tell them in the morning and they will change accordingly. To be honest there is so much to do in this area, we came back exhausted and were pleased we did not have to make an effort in choosing our evening meal, only the wine. The elevator was broken one day so we did not see the menu until the evening (which was great, we love a surprise), we asked however if we could have cheese instead of the dessert which was not a problem for them. We stayed for 2 nights and our only regret we could not have stayed longer to taste the other items on the menu which changes daily, the evening meals were so good, using fresh produce, especially the starters, fresh asparagus from up the road, tomatoes which were so simple yet so tasty. The food was real home cooking, just excellent meals. If you want a walk in the evening you could do a one mile walk through the village which is quiet and pretty. Breakfast had everything you could want. We stayed in the room Bernadine which as I said was really cute and cosy, there is no,air con so on a warm night you may need to sleep with the windows open which we did, this is on the first floor which is fine however this room is facing the road and although a quiet village you do get the odd car passing by which may disturb you if you are a light sleeper, if so choose a room at the back of the hotel. Bed firm, large but comfy, nice bathroom, ample storage. Would highly recommend...

Read moreRestaurant rescension. Went there for diner as soon as it opened at 19o'clock with two children under 4 y.o. As a last treat before leaving France. The restaurant is inside this really fascinating hotel, old wood details and little dusky atmo.
A french and only french speaking woman was our waitress for the night. She did not seem to enjoy having us and made it really difficult to get in touch with her to make an order (t.ex. wine with the main dish). I had to make my way to the reception to order the wine!
I have no idea what we ate there but it was delicious! We got out 3 hours later and the children had actually melted down in the meantime. We even got a wineglass without her telling us what sort of wine it was!😅 N.B. we ordered a set menu with 3 courses and asked for a paired wine with it.
There were two German guys sitting on the next table hwo seemed to have the exact same experience. Trying to figure out the food they had just swallowed.
There was another waiter who we were in a little touch with who knew quite good English. It would have been a win-win situation for us to have him. Also we wouldn't have hade to stay for three hours with children who tried they're best to ruine the night for the other guests.🙄
The service for tonight left a bad mark on a very delicious diner. The feeling wasn't right after...
