La Belle Etoile — Restaurant in Confolens

Having never felt the necessity to leave a poor review for any restaurant, I feel compelled to do so given my experience on taking visiting family to Belle Etoile. Average food in a place that obviously has a monopoly - main gripe was totally disinterested staff who brought entirely wrong drinks (which we just went with) when asked if we could add peppers on a pizza we were informed this was impossible!? At the end of the meal we asked to take the remaining pizzas home - which we agreed with staff - on further enquiry we were told they had put them in the bin - the manager was not all bothered when this was raised and was staggeringly dismissive, would not recommend and will...

Wat a waist of money..... Strange menu, no pasta's. The entree was there in 5 minutes, wine not there. Entree was a dish with crevettes, we got with moules, without any explanation. The next course took an our to come. The pizza was disgusting... I ate a lot of pizza during working at an Italian restaurant, but this...NO! The owner to busy with smoking, and running in and out with take-away pizzas. The girls who serve way to young, and don't know anything about food. Tip: for a good pizza, drive outside Mansle, towards N10, and on on your left, you will find...

Ce restaurant la belle étoile n'est pas qu'une pizzeria, à l'entrée dans le restaurant, on rencontre un patron avec beaucoup d'humour et de sympathie, toutes les serveuses ont le sourire sur le visage et c'est très agréable, la carte nous propose en plus des pizzas et des burgers, des plats raffinés et bien préparés, ce soir-là j'ai pris un cevice de bar frais citron vert échalote, puis une deuxième entrée, foie gras mi-cuit fondant au Pinot des Charentes et accompagner d'un verre de vin blanc moelleux, ensuite les noix de Saint-Jacques snackées sauce cognac avec le risotto, je voulais me faire plaisir sans sortir du restaurant plein comme une outre. J'ai donc demandé les proportions de chaque plat et à avoir une demi dose de risotto avec les Saint-Jacques, ce qui a été fait et j'ai terminé ce repas avec un tiramisu maison au café, mon intention était de me faire plaisir sans me retrouver ballonné, je mesure 1.70m pour 78kg et les proportions étaient donc parfaites le tout accompagné d'un tango panaché 50cl et d'un café. Je reviendrai pour découvrir les autres plats avec grand plaisir. C'est une valeur sûre si vous passez à Mansle, et si vous ne passez pas vraiment à Mansle, faites quand même...
