Hôtel Restaurant Domaine Santa Margherita — Restaurant in Corte

With 4 friends we stayed one night at hotel Santa Margherita. We choose it for it's convenient location for our early flight the next morning (15 minute drive to the airport) and for the restaurant with a nice terrace where we would spend our last evening in Corsica. What we did not expect was the immense friendly welcome and service after our arrival. The hotel is brand new, so there were not many other guests and it makes sense that they want to make a good impression with their service, which they very well did. We were shown to an great pool area with an even better view. We had the place to ourselves and could put on some music with the provided speaker. Drinks were brought to us. I am not sure if this experience will happen again if the place gets busier, maybe we were in luck, but I'll take it :D. Afterwards we had a lovely dinner and slept well in the nicely decorated 4 person room, which was basically an apartment with two rooms, a bathroom and separate toilet. We noticed that the A/C did not cool down the room enough for us, which we mentioned the next day. They said the would take a look and fix it. Really happy we choose this place, it was the perfect ending to our holiday....

The food was delicious and our server was warm, knowledgeable, and made excellent wine recommendations. We also stayed in the hotel on site. It was only a very short drive from the Bastia airport but completely surrounded by nature offering beautiful views of the forests, nearby village and the sea in the background. We had the honour to stay at this hotel as first guests ever and wow what an honour it was. The welcome was warm and the owner Alba and her father made us feel like at home right away. Rooms were very spacious and spotless, the decor splendid, and the bed super comfortable. The tv was big and offered a lot of channels but I preferred the view from the terrace. The breakfast is served to the room and was a very special way to start my birthday. The produce is all local and divine in tase!

Comfortably the best meal we had during our stay on the beautiful island of Corsica and we had some excellent meals. The braised beef and the fish stew were both incredible. The meats on the charcuterie board were also amazing. I couldn’t recommend the food more highly! The waitress was also excellent and was so attentive to our 2 year old daughter.
