L'Osteria — Restaurant in Corte

We got PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED here!!! We had nothing but an extremely distressing experience at this restaurant. After waiting an hour and a half for our food, the beef served was inedible. When I politely informed the waiter and requested a replacement, I was refused and was told they didn't have any more. Given the situation, I expressed that I didn't want anything else from the menu and mentioned I would not pay for the inedible dish as I had not touched it and they didn’t have more of the same.

What followed was shocking. The staff, including a man who seemed to be in charge, responded aggressively. He tried to punch me and my friends after grabbing onto one friend's collar but was held back. The fiasco continued as the entire family tried to assault us and gestured that they would kill us. My friends and I felt threatened and had to leave for our safety. A bystanding woman approached us and advised that we leave immediately, warning us that the police would take an hour, if not hours, to arrive on a Sunday. She also mentioned it wasn’t safe for us as a Chinese, Danish/German, and Pakistani group to be there amongst them. This incident has been reported to the authorities. When traveling around there will always be a place that doesn’t meet the expectations. This was ours. Although the place was not packed it took the waiter half an hour to bring us the first drinks and another hour before we had our dishes. Pizza was good and straight from the wood oven, pasta carbonara was good but we ordered swordfish and seabrass and though the sea is only 30m from the restaurant it didn’t taste like fresh fish ( rather frozen) So for a good pizza this is a good place, for fish dishes you better consult another place. When asking the bill it took another full 20minutes … ending in paying the same amount as other restaurants we visited but this time...

Location spettacolare affacciata su una spiaggia incontaminata, l’unico problema lo crea uno sciame di zanzare che aleggia nell’aria del porticato dove sono disposti i tavolini. Il personale non sembra interessato a porre zampironi o altri dispositivi per evitare alla clientela spiacevoli punture. Menù scarno, pregno di errori ortografici (per es: arrabbiatta e putanesca) e molto costoso. Pizza di dimensione e aspetto simil congelata, alla fine anche il gusto rispecchia ciò che l’occhio vede. Andare a cenare fuori e ottenere un’esperienza simile a scongelarsi una pizza nel proprio forno di casa, è abbastanza frustrante. Ingredienti di bassa qualità e abbinati con noncuranza rispetto alla tradizione culinaria italiana (groviera al posto della mozzarella). Nonostante nel locale sia presente un bellissimo forno a legna, la crosta della pizza risulta inesistente e bruciacchiata. Uniche due note positive: la birra era molto buona e il personale è stato cordiale nonostante un errore commesso nella presa delle comande (abbiamo ordinato una birra media e una caraffa d’acqua e ci sono arrivate due birre medie).
