A little charming restaurant. The owners are very nice and hospitable. We went there without a reservation and it was full. They just had an empty table in front of the reception and I asked if we could sit there. The owners were kind enough to accommodate us there. We appreciated a lot their hospitality. Maison du Kerala is an absolute delight — authentic, flavorful, and run by some of the kindest people! I stopped in for lunch one day and couldn’t resist returning for dinner on the final evening of my trip. If I lived anywhere nearby, I’d be a regular without question, but NYC is sadly a bit far for weekly visits! The street where this restaurant is located might seem desolated, but yes. You came to the right spot. We hoped to be seated outside on the terrace, but unfortunately it was not open for lunch. Still, we had a nice lunch inside. Good food, not that hot (spicey) so I guess they adjusted it somewhat to accommodate to the local palette.
