Won’t be going back.
I think the owner has lost interest in this venue, one of his three restaurant hotels.
A previously lost key meant our room, their best, had a €2 padlock. Staff didn’t have a key so a €175 room couldn’t be serviced.
A broken rusty sun umbrella stand leant across one table for 3 of our four nights moved to another corner on our fourth to make room for a wheelchair.
The restaurant was full for our first evening. 30 covers with two waiting staff who we could see also had to do the washing up. Hour waits for people between courses (whether they wanted to or not). Not the waiting staff’s fault. The food was not flavourful and we didn’t eat there again even with a 40 minute walk to Dieppe for other restaurants. (A bisque sauce made with un-announced coconut was also a turn off).
And some profiteering. 100ml glasses for what was meant to be 125ml measures “because larger glasses fall over”.
The owner did the breakfast twice, and on the last day we gave him feedback. He shrugged his shoulders and gave us a card for his other venues and complained that he and his accountant had to do breakfast because they couldn’t get the staff.
If he paid them enough and treated them well then perhaps staff wouldn’t...
Read moreSimply delicous and beautiful experience to dine here for lunch. We had a fantastic 6 courses which lazily spread over 3 hours. The portion size was good so you got to truly experience and share a range of flavours including lobster cappuccino!, oysters, pate, veal, lobster and a superb, generous and theatrical selection of cheese. Special mention for the desserts chocolate pot and tarte tartin, simply superb with lovely flavour touches. Top food and top service from our waitress just enhanced the experience. This was delivered efficiently and most importantly engagingly and with humour throughout, despite our limited French. With views over Puys village and beach even on a rainy day the location is great. We all felt very comfortable here and it was relaxed and special experience. Its not cheap but it is really good value for what is one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Worth every Euro. The perfect end to a couple of days in the wonderful Dieppe Only minutes from town and easy access to the ferry simply go if you can. Thank to chefs and staff and we would give you many more stars if we could. Hope to...
Read moreWe rented the vacation house/gite from this hotel, and it was very basic. Things were falling apart, the shower drain backed up, and the kitchen had basically nothing provided. It really would benefit from some attention and care. It wasn't great value for the cost, but we still enjoyed. The positives were the incredible views, the windows were excellent (only thing that seemed to be invested in) and provided a lovely cross breeze. The location is great, just up from the beach and not far into the centre. Really well located. The furniture was shabby but comfortable. We were able to have breakfast at the main hotel (three houses along the street), which was good. The restaurant associated with the hotel is excellent. They seemed short staffed, like a lot of places right now, but the two women were lovely and friendly. It's a very dog friendly place too. I think next time I would try to stay in the hotel itself, but we were looking for a place for four of us, so it seemed reasonable to try the house. However, they need to make a lot of repairs and provide more in order to make it...
