L'Huîtrière Hôtel et Restaurant — Restaurant in Dieppe

Price / quality this is so-so. Should be cheaper, but cross the road and you're on the beach, so I guess that explains it. And yet it’s that road that kept me up at night. We had a warm august night, the room was too warm so we slept with open windows. No worries there, except that the intersection on which the hotel is situated tends to get traffic (this being on the main coastal road towards Dieppe I guess). Room was small, bathroom even smaller and all had a bit an outdated feel to it. This didn’t bother me but might appal the less adventurous traveller. Beds are OK comfy, internet (although slow) is free and service is adequate. Hotel has a restaurant on site which is ok, not wauw, and cleanliness is of French standards if you know what I mean. Breakfast is in the bar part of the hotel and is functional and standard (basic). So no real complaints other than the noisy road which tends to get busy in morning and evenings but I’m also not wowed. Will I stay here again? Not necessarily: there is another hotel a bit further on, but I suspect this may have the same standard. But if need be I would take this hotel again: staff was friendly enough, food was ok (cheap enough) and slept ok until woken up by cars. Maybe take the back side of the hotel: you’ll miss the view but if you’re a light sleeper like me, you’ll have a...

I've put 2 stars and not less only for the location. Just in front of the hotel you have a beach, which is very comfortable. As for other things.. The bed was not comfortable at all (the mattress), and the carpet in the room has to be changed asap, dirty & full of dark spots. You wish being able to fly, then walking on it. The staff. The evening before check out my husband went to the reception to mention our early departure, and check if everything was paid. The woman at the reception told him to come back after, as, she said, she was finishing her dinner (reception desk, around 18:30!!) - customer service just great.. :( The restaurant. Better to avoid. The service is very slow, even though there was a lot of staff and not so many guests in the restaurant. We've waited around 20 minutes just to get menu. The food is not good, at all, if not to say worse. The meat of my husband, honestly, was disgusting. The prices are very high for what it is. The breakfast which was included in the room price. Well, 1 croissant per person (unfrozen), piece of bread, 1 small jam, butter, coffee and small orange juice (half water) does not really seem like a hotel breakfast, even for 2 stars hotel....
