La voile bleue — Restaurant in Dieppe

We have now been twice to this restaurant but it won't make our favourites place list. The views are good and the open kitchen doesn't intrude much on the dining room. The staff are OK but too busy so can't give the level of service that their prices reflect.

Both times we went there was limited choice for vegetarians. The fish of the day both days was Lieu which is cheap but not the most interesting fish in the world. Portion sizes demand you get three courses but your wallet would prefer two courses.

Busy enough both times we were there so...

Stopped for a coffee as it was raining but decided to stop and eat when we saw the menu. I had the menu of the day and my husband had a burger. Food was absolutely excellent and really good value for money. We also liked the fact that our server was so nice and you could see the pride he took in the standard of his restaurant. What a stunning find. This is some of the best seafood “fruit de mer” you’ll find in Normandy. Utterly fresh and delicious with homemade aioli. This is a spot nestled off the beaten track but will not disappoint. The strawberry pavlova with berry sorbet inside was delightful and well presented....
