The desserts were the star of the evening - each of them extremely well composed out of highest quality ingredients (e.g. the chocolate sauce evidently made of real, highest quality chocolate, the vanilla ice cream had loads of real vanilla bean in it, etc.). The starters and mains likewise had very fresh ingredients and were prepared in very traditional ways; they lacked the little twists and surprises, however, that innovative menus would offer, and the flavours sometimes didn't really blend, hence 4 stars. The service was very friendly and had a family feel, and I really liked the tastefully modern interior in a quaint setting.
All in all, this restaurant is a great choice if you either look for very traditional French food or are in the area (it's a few minutes from the amazing Bois de Moutiers, a must- see garden and park in Dieppe); however, if you look for more modern, creative food, the restaurant may not justify a trip out of town...
Read moreThis was by far the worst meal and service I've had in my three week holiday in France. I ordered the meat of the day, as did my wife, the sirloin steak that arrived was not the best looking but I did hope for the best. Unfortunately it was full of gristle and sinew. I chewed about half of it and gave up. When eventually the waitress came over I pointed out that the meal was very poor she pretended to not understand, despite using Google translate to help, and walked away. I didn't expect to be given a free meal but an apology would have been nice. She has the worst attitude I've encountered, and I've travelled worldwide and eaten out plenty. I left having paid full price, no apologies and rather hungry. This is one of the few of my many reviews where I would advise you to seriously consider another...
