Ok, where to begin. About 10 months ago we stayed at the Holiday Inn and had dinner in the hotel restaurant Le Cosy. Back then the food was good, tasty and very pleasant. So, when we stayed again last week it was a no-brainer to have dinner there again. That was a mistake.
On the positive side, the drinks were good and the staff was very friendly. After that, things went downhill.
My girlfriend ordered the Pasta of the Day. It was a pasta with salmon and a sauce from which the chef claimed it was a herb sauce. First of all, the sauce was green(ish), there was a lot of it and it had no taste at all. It tasted like uncooked cream, like fatty milk. No herbs detected. There were also croutons in the pasta and some other stuff that was hard to place. The salmon was thin sliced, but I think the salmon was actually okay. It just got ruined because of everything else on that plate. It could have been a simple pasta, but this was really-really nasty.
Then I ordered the Chicken Gaston Gérard, which is a local dish. This should be tender and very tasty. However, the chicken was dry-dry-dry. It was a half chicken breast, but so dry that i really wonder how the chef managed to do this. Also, the gratin dauphinois was not creamy at all. How? And why?
At this point we should have known better, but we were hungry and ordered a dessert. We were trying to go for a safe (easy) dessert and went for the tarte tartin. I am not sure what the chef did to the apples, but the apples had no taste at all. Nothing. How is that even possible? No sour, no sweet, only a tasteless blob of stuff. Apples, apple season. How can they have no taste at all? The only thing we could taste was a little of the burned crust (which is not unusual with a tarte tartin I guess) and the sweetness of the crust, not the apples. It was so weird and extremely disappointing.
The whole menu was a joke without any love for food at all. We didn't get sick from it and the food was sort of eatable. But that is a pretty low standard to maintain. As a restaurant you should not want to serve any of the items I just described to guests at all. Not in the way they were presented.
The restaurant is not cheap either. For the main dish 23 euro, 16 for the 'pasta' and 10 euro per dessert.
In the restaurant we did complain about the freaky green sauce, but the chef wouldn't have it and claimed it is just his recipe. Just know, it is not a good recipe. The chef also puts the sauce over the main course dish that has fish, I think it is Dorade filet.
We also talked to the reception the next day about the whole experience. I know they can't do much about it, but let's hope for future guests that this gets addressed.
For now I would say, avoid! Or hope for...
Read moreIt was one of the worst burgers I've ever had (not really had it as I stopped eating after the first bite). Meat was falling apart and had a weird colour 🤢, bun soft and soaked with fat, exactly the same as fries 🤮. The only positive was still water, fresh and cold as expected 😅. It was extremely hot outside, and no air con working. Apart from that, flies all over the restaurant. When I mentioned all this to the waitress, she didn't seem to be bothered. If you are planning on staying in the hotel, then think twice...

Really kinda shook that there was no aircon in the resto so we were sweating so much while eating dinner. Also there were a ton of flies and bees buzzing around. The food was really mediocre especially the pasta of the day. They said it was a carrot sauce but really tasted so bland and really difficult to swallow. The chicken in the pasta was...
