A Lovely Evening at Au Rendezvous

We had a wonderful dinner at Au Rendezvous during a spontaneous visit to Callian, and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Montaroux.

The restaurant has a beautiful terrace with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Daniel, our host, was incredibly kind and attentive, and the service overall was impeccable. Although we arrived without much planning, they went out of their way to make our birthday celebration feel special, bringing out a cake we bought with sparklers, sharing in the moment with us, and even offering a round of limoncello to toast the birthday boy.

The food was excellent, especially the duck dishes, which were rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Everything felt thoughtful without being fussy, just really good French cuisine made with care.

Au Rendezvous is a place we’d gladly return to, not only for the food but for the warm, genuine hospitality that made the evening...

After having a lovely lunch, we went on a walk around Callian and at 2:30pm found this restaurant with a beautiful view, and decided to have a post lunch drink, only to be told “eat only, no drinks” by the jobsworth waitress. I thought pretty strange as lunch time was over and there were plenty of free tables. But she was adamant … “not possible”. So we found another happy to serve us a sundowner, but not before using their off street toilet… and after I exit she runs after me… “pre-pay pre-pay pre-pay”. She would have got my pre-pay as a tip if she’d be bothered to give us a table! Oh well next lunch in Callian won’t be there.

Après un bon déjeuner, nous nous sommes promenés dans Callian et à 14h30, nous avons trouvé ce restaurant avec une vue magnifique et avons décidé de prendre un verre après le déjeuner, mais la serveuse de jobsworth nous a dit « ne mangez que, pas de boissons ». . J'ai trouvé assez étrange car l'heure du déjeuner était terminée et il y avait plein de tables libres. Mais elle était catégorique... "pas possible". Nous avons donc trouvé un autre heureux de nous servir un coucher de soleil, mais pas avant d'utiliser leurs toilettes hors rue… et après que je sois sorti, elle me court après… « pré-payé pré-payé pré-payé ». Elle aurait eu mon pré-paiement comme pourboire si elle avait pris la peine de nous donner une table ! Eh bien, le prochain déjeuner à Callian ne...

Food came very long 1,5 hours! Lack of labour!! If they want to receive lots of people they should make an effort to hire more people to work. Foods are nothing special! People come only for the ambience. If you really hungry and don't have energy to wait, Don't come to this place! I think this place only for local, because no effort...
