Our personal expierence at this franchise was poor. While the service was great, and the servers were polite and so on, the head server was rude, and had a sort of superior attitude. The food was at best, mediocre. I cannot speak for the meat-based menu, but the vegetarian menu is surely not worth the €155 per person. If I can add, we chose the 90-something per person menu, and the waiter asked if we wanted to add the white truffles, which we were not told, were going to add €60 to each dish per person, which would be fine, if the food was good. The evening started with a tasteless appetizer, toasted bread with truffles, and a muscle. Then a soup was served, which looked like puke, and tasted as if someone had bought it in a supermarket and served it straight from a can. Then we had a potato dish with truffle dressing, which was truly the only dish that was above average. Next, minimal vegetables were served, with the same truffle sauce as in the potato dish. Even I, who cannot even cook an egg correctly, could’ve cooked such below average food. At this point, I felt overwhelmed by the pure truffle taste, and while I understand this is a restaurant based on the truffle ingredients, a pallet cleanser might have been a good idea in-between dishes, to actually be able to differentiate their tastes. Then, the most vile dish was served. It tasted as if the chef whisked flour and water together, and adding heaps of salt, and sprinkling a bit of truffle on top. No one at my table touched this dish. Next they served deserts. The first thing the waiter brought out, looked like it had been massacred by 7 year olds at a birthday party, 10 years ago. At least he waiter also brought out other dishes that looked appetizing, and the one I tried was actually good, although stale. The most laughable thing they brought out although, was this sort of desert platter, fit with dried fruits, nuts and a meringue. Yet at this point the waiters had taken all the silverware and plates, meaning no one could even try any of it. All in all, I could’ve had a better meal at...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant after hearing a lot about it. It is luxurious as they say, in an amazing beautiful place you can see and experience even during the night. It's inside an amazingly decorated house that feels like you're dining in a palace. Unfortunately, the service was mediocre at best, very disappointing for a restaurant with a Michelin star or at this level. It's not that the servers were not nice they were just barely there, and some were not at the level you expect at this kind of restaurant. They served the dishes with only a short explanation that barely says anything even less than what was written in the menu and just barely there. They haven't noticed cups going empty of water, they haven't noticed at all when we needed something or even asked, they haven't even noticed or asked really about dishes we didn't finish or parts we haven't touched. Moreover, The food, was really underwhelming. The menu was very unbalanced with one heavy dish after the other, most of the truffles - the star of the restaurant - were tasteless and the main dish with a roe deer meat and fois gras was disappointing, the side filled savoy cabbage was good but the fois gras had a super strong lamb taste that I couldn't eat. It was left in the plate and no one even asked why. The potato dish's cream sauce was good but the potato itself was tasteless and missing lots of salt and the truffles - again, tasteless. Some dishes were nice and good like the Jerusalem artichoke at the beginning and the brie cheese dish at the end but were missing elevation and creativeness. Overall, a really really disappointing dinner. Maybe my expectations were too high but from many other experiences, there are incredible meals in 1 star restaurants. This one was definitely not...
Read moreWe had such a memorable experience at Chez Bruno. The setting is relaxed yet full of charm — like a long, sunlit lunch at a countryside retreat. We were lucky to get a table on the terrace, which made everything feel even more special. The team was warm and attentive from start to finish.
We went for the large set menu and loved the generous portions and thoughtful presentation. A lovely surprise was the house aperitif — a light, rosé-style drink with fruity notes, refreshing and perfectly suited for the start of the meal.
The only small disappointment was the meat — we ordered it medium rare, but it arrived quite dry and a bit cold.
As for the desserts, while nicely done, we found ourselves wishing for something more homey and classic — like a tarte Tatin or a beautiful mille-feuille — to match the soulful vibe of the place. Still, we understand that the menu reflects a more Michelin-inspired approach.
The highlight of the meal was the generous use of truffle throughout — refined and full of depth. The truffle sorbet with champagne was absolutely delicious: elegant, unexpected, and truly unforgettable.
This is one of those places that should be on your list if you want to experience the atmosphere and explore the many expressions of truffle. There’s also a lovely boutique on-site with a great selection of truffle-based products and local wines, including those served at the restaurant — all beautifully presented and...
