What was served to me under the proud and misguided label of "pizza" was, in truth, a culinary aberration an appalling assembly of pre-cooked dough and a bewildering, almost provocative mixture of mozzarella and Gruyère, as if designed by someone who has heard of pizza only in passing and decided to reinvent it without understanding it in the slightest. The taste, if one can call it that, was an exercise in imbalance and unpleasantness, leaving a lasting and thoroughly unwanted memory, one that unfortunately followed me into the solitude of my hotel room where I was forced to confront the full, nauseating consequences of this so-called meal. I will, out of fairness, acknowledge that the staff were courteous and polite, though tragically unable to compensate for what can only be described as a complete failure in the kitchen.
