We spent nine nights at Les Trois Soleils in June 2018. The grounds were lovely, the room (a junior suite) comfortable and spacious. The location for touring the Lot is very good; we went north to the Corrèze, south to the Lot valley and Cahors, and southwest to Figeac. ||||I agree that the restaurant had ts limitations. Everything was well prepared and nicely served, but we didn’t always want a five-course dinner. So we ate there three nights and elsewhere the rest of the time, and that worked out. The 12-euro breakfast was a bit overpriced for a croissant, a pain au chocolat, a bit of baguette, yogurt and coffee, but convenience outweighed everything.||||What was absolutely wonderful was the service. The owner must never sleep; she was always around with a bright smile to chat and to help. Over the nine days we got to know her a bit, and she helped make our stay perfect. But I wasn’t just her; the young man who also staffs the desk was a bit less polished but very accommodating and eager to please,||||St Cere is a real, functioning town, not drop-dead gorgeous like some of the MBV villages in the area but a great place to base (has a convenient easy to use laundromat about five minutes from the hotel. There’s also a really good italian restaurant where we ate a couple of times. ||||If we return to the Lot we would return in a heartbeat. And BTW the Lot is a gorgeous and unspoiled area, much less touristy than the...

Read more5 of us went for Sunday lunch. Two of them didn't eat seafood, so the restaurant suggested subsitutes within the fixed menu. Not everyone does that. I never choose to eat à la Carte, so the absence of such an offer did not surprise or disappoint me. Actually I applaud their decision, as it means the chef can spend more time on perfecting every dish. ||||Service was meticulous and friendly. Three very nice amuses accompanied our aperitif of a bottle of excellent white wine from Bergerac. I won't go through the food blow by blow. but merely highlight the meat course which was a magnificent dish of squab (hutch bred pigeon). The breast was roasted to perfection and the legs confit. Good vegetables, arguably a little too fussy - but what can a Michelin starred chef do? The Madiran we chose to accompany it was delightful. ||||All in all, this was a very satisfactory event on all counts. Our friends who come from the USA said that each course would have cost the price of our entire menu in most city restaurants there. We loved the food, the wine and the relaxed and friendly ambiance. Although this is my first review of this establishment, it was not my first visit, nor will...
