Menu de jour but also can choose À la carte. A couple of vegetarian dishes to choose from starter/main courses including pizzas, but choice is limited. A multitude of meat & fish dishes--traditional French cuisine mostly. Desserts are ice cream based & delicious especially the Chocolat Liégeois. There is a bar. Inside or outside seating with superb views across the Valley looking towards the villages of Autoire & Loubressac. Large sunshades provide shade on sunny days & shelter during rain. There is a small play area for younger children (up to 12) The Château de Castelnau sits behind the restaurant & you can visit--ticket required- or walk around the walls of the Château. We checked the opening hours and reserved a table - we have learned to do this in tourist areas of France. A great experience, with really friendly, engaged and competent staff. The menu is different - but that's a good thing. The food was very well prepared, served rapidly (but not too rapidly) and was copious in the extreme. The location is superb, under the ramparts of Castelnau and with views across the valley towards Loubressac.

To keep things cool, there is a water-spray system. If you can, choose a table where you will not get too damp. After a day in the mid-30's centigrade, a little cool spray was actually...

Just fabulous. Super friendly staff, who were really accommodating, despite us not having booked. The food was excellent; a good range of French cuisine plus excellent pizzas and the best burgers ever (according to my discerning 20 year old son). The setting, just below the chateau, and views from the terrace were also marvellous. Can't recommend highly enough. Make sure you book ahead, though....
