My room faced over a tiled roof but my friends bedrooms faced towards the church and Abbey. The Abbey is the inly reason to come to Nieul. We were supposed to be staying half board and we were offered a meal on the evening of our arrival. It was just passable. The next eving was Whit Sunday. We were offered a cold collation to eat in our miserable rooms! Amazing. There was a very good Creperie nearby, hidden around from the shops, but a good find for us as the gallettes and crepes were very good and the place was quite charming in...

Read moreWhat a gem! We stopped for one night as a stop over and wished we had stayed longer. This lovely hotel restaurant is in the heart of a gorgeous village, which has everything you need: a little supermarket, a boulangerie, a chemist, a crêperie and even a hairdresser and beautician. The hotel and restaurant is family run and newly refurbished. The owners are welcoming and very accommodating. The food is delicious and the rooms are clean, nicely decorated with super comfy beds and even a choice of pillows. We loved eating in the garden and our teens had great fun playing darts and palet.
