Tamure Grill — Restaurant in French Polynesia

We arrived from our flight starving and ordered two burgers with no bun and a pizza for two of us to share. We are on our honey moon, we ordered no bun bc we wanted to eat the carbs from the pizza. But the waitress came back to tell us that “the chef said no” about us getting a pizza as well as our burgers?? So whatever we didn’t get the pizza we wanted? Weird because I’m spending almost 2 grand a night to stay here…then we ordered dessert, each a ice cream sundae and they end up being HUGE, but the server didn’t want to mention that we could share but stopped us from eating what we actually wanted? Also the restaurant closed so early, so after lunch we were still hungry and came back for dinner around 7:30 but they didn’t let us in. We watched as several other families and couple were turned away and left starving at an expensive resort with no where else to go because were trapped on an island. Ate here twice while staying 5 nights at the nearby Moorea Sunset Beach. We ate here twice because I loved it so much. I got the mixed bbq plate both times (listed as "meat, fish, chicken and shrimp" I think). It came with those thing plus rice and fries. It was a lot of quality food at a decent price, but the sauce was the real star of the show. It was certainly Terriyaki-like, but just better somehow. I'd say this dish reminded a bit more of a Hawaiian BBQ than what we were usually getting in French Polynesia.

They had a pretty big menu with lots of other things that sounded really good. My wife got a pizza once and a shrimp dish the other time and liked both.

Food was good, not exceptional, but good. One cannot expect a gourmet salad, but both salads we got - Greek and Duck salad were ok. The steak was ok as well. The dessert was amazing - very well presented and delicious! Service was very good, prompt and super friendly. They even accommodated us with a fruit plate at the end of the night!
