Le Mas d'Estello — Restaurant in Gap

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room bordered on the ridiculous in how small it was, the double bed filled it to 90%, the wall was less than half a metre from the foot of the bed and above it had the air conditioning split, practically unusable even at minimum because it only pointed at less than two metres. The only thing adequate was the shower, of regular size, everything else absolutely inadequate. To get to the room a maze of corridors and stairs, a sweat with suitcases. The hotel is very badly maintained, and the photos on the website are absolutely untrue, generally dirty everywhere. I had a standard double room which, strangely enough, is not published on the website. I parked at the back, so from the tiny niche that served as a balcony I could see the bike, and it was an unimaginable mess of neglect. The only interesting aspect was the restaurant, pleasant enough, but even here the sense of filth was everywhere. We ate on the bare table, without even a sheet of paper to replace at least part of a tablecloth. |At breakfast they hit rock bottom, miserable buffet reduced to the bare minimum. I take tea in the morning, there were only a few old abandoned sachets of impossible tea: green tea with mint, blueberry, chamomile and tall sachets of something unclear. I asked the lady present if she had any normal breakfast-the, with an annoyed look she opened a closed shelf near the till, pulled out a box and put a small packet of English breakfast in my hand, then closed the box again under lock and key... Incredible! If we consider that breakfast is charged separately at a cost of 12.90 euro, we understand the absurdity of it all.|A completely failed hotel that I will never...

We spent one night there on our way south. The rooms are nicely rebuilt, our room was perfect for a family, with a bed downstairs for our big one, a water heater, and a room upstairs for parents. The only thing is that it is next to the road and the aerodrome, so not very quiet. Our room wasn't facing the road anyway, and the planes start to fly at 8.00, so it wasn't disturbing at all for us, and our child was very happy to watch all the planes, and the many parachutes. Pool is nice and very well secured, and many sun beds around. Breakfast is simple but accorded to the three stars category. Restaurant serves average food, but again very convenient to children, with a little garden to play in while parents are eating. In conclusion I would say that it is a very good choice for a short stay for a family, but I wouldn't stay there...
