O P’tit bistrot — Restaurant in Gap

A must go-to place! It is the best restaurant we found in a week in the 30 minutes driving vicinity. Had we found it earlier, we would have gone back there every (other) day!

We ate there for lunch and chose items from the two "menu du jour". All the food was great, tasted good, was served in good quantities and well priced (20€ for appetizer/main/desert), i.e. not priced for tourists. A lot of locals/regulars also eat there. They also had a good selection of red and white wines, also reasonably priced (if you want a white wine, try the Tariquet!).

Staff was friendly and professional in a "classic" French way (and without any bad attitude).

The menu is simple. I wouldn't expect any special accommodations from this place if you are veg* or have special dietary restrictions (note: I may be wrong on this so give them a call if you want...

We ate at lunch time a very good set menu for 15 euro, which was three courses. My wife said the Lasagne was delicious and filling. For an entree she ate the salad with fish. There were three different fish on the salad, including Tuna and Salmon. I chose the Moules / Frites and for the entree I ate the salad with gizzard.

Prices have obviously gone up. We stopped there recently, the size of the outside eating are appears to have grown a little. The also serve a locally made IPA beer which is delicious.

On offer for desert were apple tarts, ice cream and more. My apple tart was lovely, my wife declined a desert, she was full.

Un endroit très charmant, simple, propre, convivial, avec un personnel accueillant. L'endroit est fleurie, on peut noter la présence de décoration rustique rural fort agréable, avec vue sur les majestueuses montages des Hautes-Alpes, ainsi que des murés recouvert de jolies vignes. Le bâtiment du restaurant est très jolie, très bien entretenu, belle peinture et joliment décoré d'une manière sobre. On peut également noter la présence de basilic, de romarin et de thym. C'est vraiment sympathique et dépéhisant. Le menu est très chouette, les plats sont raffinés à souhait, c'est vraiment une farandole de délices, de l'entrée au dessert ! 👍 On ne comprend pas trop le nom du restaurant d'ailleurs. Sans doute une marque de caractère humble. Cependant je ne met que 4 étoiles suite à une remarque déplacée d'un serveur, suite à avoir demandé gentillement du ketchup pour mes frites à la patate douce. Je site : "Faudrait apprendre à manger" m'a il dit sur un ton désinvolte.. Cela dit, étant donné la qualité des plats proposés je comprends en partie sa réaction, même si ça ne ce fait pas. Car de mon point de vue, les goût et les couleurs ne ce discute pas. Et si l'établissement possède du ketchup, je suis en droit d'en demander sans me faire insulter. La contrariété c'est pas génial pour savourer son plat ! Mais bon, lui ayant signifié en fin de repas, je pense qu'il à saisi mon point de vue et mon ressenti. Et je lui pardonne.

Bref, pour finir sur une bonne note, le rapport qualité prix est extraordinaire ! 😃 Encore chapeau au cuisto, son équipe et à la qualité du service, un grand bravo, je suis sincère. Très bonne adresse, je recommande. Absolument pas chère pour une qualité à mon...
