Good customer service. Pay attention to the fine print on the menu. This was my first review when we went to the restaurant in November 2021. I am updating my review based on most recent experience August 2022. I wanted to show two friends the beauty of the mountains by having lunch at this restaurant. One friend came in from the UK, another came from nearby Geneva. I spent the whole week calling the restaurant to make a reservation but no one answered the phone. Nevertheless we ventured to go without a reservation. Upon arrival the place was not busy however the waitress called Angelique scolded us for not having a reservation. When I showed her my phone history proving that I had been calling all week, she said I must have dialed the wrong number....this was the reception upon arrival. She then went on to say we cannot sit outside and that we have to sit inside. That was fine with us......she seemed to want to give us reason to leave. I was bent on not wasting the 23 minute drive from home and not to waste my friends time either. They had come from Geneva by bus! So we were seated inside.....the place was visibly not busy but Angelique was too busy and impatient with us.....we just stayed calm.....eventually another waitress ended up taking our orders ... The food was good as usual. The only problem was the bread for the fondue tasted as though the person who cut the bread had perfume on their hands....so the bread tasted like perfume . It is unfortunate that a reputable restaurant like this will have a rude waitress such as Angelique. Customer service needs to remain just as good as the food on the menu. After our meal they asked if we would like to order dessert. I seized the opportunity to tell the friendlier waitress that reception we have received at the restaurant was not sweet enough for us to want dessert. I hope they take note of this. I made a suggestion that they should consider an online reservation system since it is so hard to make reservations via phone. Angelique schooled me about how management cannot make such an investment. I know she is not management. I hope management will...
Read moreWorst treatment we have ever received. Came all the way from Geneva to spend Saturday with friends. We were received by a waitress called Angelique, angry and not nice or kind! Because we didn’t make a reservation. Although my friend did call them several time but no one pick up the phone. She was agressive and Lecturing us. I am sure that a place like this has a lot to offer to people however this waitress is not the best person to present that. We got bread pieces that smells perfume too. Nothing matters in life more than being kind to people. I trust the place could do better to ensure this...
Read moreQuite literally one of my favorite restaurants in the entire Rhone alpes Jura region! This restaurant is not only typical but also unique. It has all the amazing staple foods, such as fondue, Raclette, tartiflette, etc. But they also have unique variations on these themes are very peculiar local traditions. Gexiflette - tartiflette made with Bleu de Gex. Raclette, but with a charcoal burner instead of an electric heating element. And the ambiance is absolutely amazing. The biggest piece of advice though is to book early,...
