Steak' n Shake Jardin des Causses du Lot — Restaurant in Gourdon

Complain about Steak and Shake service at : Steak' n Shake Jardin des Causses du Lot.

I came here today at 12.07.2025 17.20pm I tried to order from the machine, and my order just gone and they said from the Kiosk that contact the staff. Then there are some people came behind us, go to the counter to order their order gone thru. Then there was a short power cut, the staff told me to wait 30 mins to order for their machine to work again. I was so disappointed and not agree. The staff, the tall young, skinny with glasses, told me, that the machine is not working now, nothing he can do. I told him it is not my fault, that he did not came to receive my order first. And he told me " not my business". I told him I want to talk to his manager, then the manager came, and told me, no speak ENGLISH ???? THEN why the heck that the manager even came ??? In the end, the manager told me ok came and she will receive my order, just 5 mins after everything happen. So, why the first guy told me that i have to wait 30 mins ? Also I request for fries, with no SALT. She told me, no possible ? Why I cant order French fries with no Salt for my 1 year old baby ? What an horrible experience I ever receive from any restaurant in Framce. So disappointed.

Oh by the way, right before I came to order, 5 of the staffs was all outside, smoking and noone was inside for me to ask to order. If they just be there and do there job 5 mins earlier, I could have order before the power cut, and none of this would be happen.

Excellent place for a stop over. The website it’s not that easy to access & not very explanatory. Neither the written menú as was written only in French. Perhaps downloading the app will be more in detail. Although if you are in a rush will take time. Only one point to order, the other was not working. So ordered in a rush. I wanted a menu, one Signature burger, drink & chips and only one normal burger with guacamole. Ended up with 2 burgers & 2 chips & no drinks. Excellent both burgers! Delicious! The chips were not so good, they look like those left over of the end of the day chips mix with nice chips. Easy access to the area for wheelchair users. Very good service area with a large car park, nice shops, although local products quite pricey, very clean toilets and changing room for the babies. Menu only in French, will be helpful to have it in English...

The Burger is good - not as good as I expect it to be for the price. The fries were not crispé but soft. This is the 2nd time I ate here and both times the fries were soft. At least they make the Burgess fresh when ordered. The other places seem to only have prépared food so if you come later in the day, it dis not look very appetizing. Overall good food but overpriced.
