Lovely out of season lunch at Fresslines. Suspect we were the only tourists on this cold but sunny day. The other patrons were probably men working locally, and that's always a good sign. The waitress was full of smiles, and very patiently tried her limited English against our bad French. All four of us chose the Menu du Jour. Salad starter followed by cod in a delicious sauce with lovely individual portions of cauliflower cheese gratin. The home made tiramisu, served in individual preserve jars, was wonderful. The restaurant is much bigger than we'd realised. They showed us into a second room which has a hand painted mural of the local scenery running around all four walls, and they have a large garden. I'm a vegetarian, which is a curse in France, but the on special beetroot salad was incredibly tasty and the vegetarian option for the pizza was good too. Lovely bread, beer and ice cold water for the table, what more could you want. I would whole heartedly recommend. Read moreHabitant en Creuse depuis 2 ans et de nombreux repas le midi avec la formule menu du jours j ai décidé d y aller ce mercredi 14 août au soir avec des amis ,commande d un whisky et d un whisky coca ,le serveur nous ramène 2 whisky simple donc ont réclame le coca pour qu a l audition ont nous facture 2 whisky simple et un avec coca ! Plus de formule menu dispo alors ont prend a la carte 3 terrines du chef qui est au menu d habitude mais là elle est facturé 10 euro pour 3 triangles de terrines,des cubes de poivrons ,salade et le tout soupoudrer de paprika ! La plat rien a dire entrecôte 300gr sauce poivre et frites ( un peut trop cuites )le rouget ,le tartare et le menu enfant c étais bien ,mais les desserts il ne rester presque rien en choix ,plus de fruits givré,plus de tiramisu, resté qu une mousse choco ,des crème brûlées et les glaces .
