One could not hope to find a better restaurant than Le Rustica. Marie is absolutely wonderful and delightfully charming. The food, masterfully prepared by her husband, is simply outstanding (the filets de rougets were nothing short of heavenly), thoughtfully conceived, and crafted with passion, care, and skill. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and our expectations have been exceeded every time. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Marie, and thank you to your husband, for another unforgettable experience. We will see you next year!

Everything at Le Rustica is homemade, with Francis in the kitchen using fresh local ingredients and turning out delicious dishes at amazing value. Marie runs front of house with efficiency and a smile that makes you feel right at home. We had the best meal out in a long time and can't wait for our next reservation in 3 weeks!

Conclusion : on s’y sent bien ! Nous mettons donc ce restaurant dans la liste de ceux que nous revisiterons régulièrement.

This is a delightful little restaurant slightly off the beaten track between Santes, twinned with Salisbury UK, and Pons not far from the A10. It was our second visit. ||This review is full of superlatives because the restaurant deserves them. ||Marie at the front of house is charming and extremely helpful. Her husband the chef is a magician. ||The food is quite spectacular and today we had the menu du jour for 22 Euros. |We had a wonderful tapenade Followed by an amuse bouche of a pork terrine with a slightly curried and mango sauce. Brilliant!||For the starter we had a warm terrine of fish and prawns which was a real surprise in a good way. ||We could have had gizzards and lardons as an option. ||We then had a fabulous fillet of fish with an amazing sauce and a little mashed potato, mashed gourd and another root vegetable that I did not recognise but was really tasty. ||There as also a pair of chicken legs in an equally divine sauce as an option, which my wife had and she said was fab. ||The dessert was 3 sheep’s cheeses with a little cherry jam. The cheeses were plain, chilli and herb. Really very good. ||We could have had sorbets as a desert option. All this was washed down with 1/2 litre of wine. ||We SHALL return. Probably...

My daughter and son in law and a friend took me there for a birthday treat. They had been before and loved it and immediately we entered I knew why. One of the best reasons to visit France is because they really care about you and they want you to enjoy all that they and France have to offer. ||The welcome was typical of this and the charm of Le Rustica added volumes. We were a little late but there was no rush to make up for this. We sat and were treated to a glass of lovely liqueur and some amuse bouche which set the tone for the evening. We loved the menu and took our time because the selection was wonderfully diverse. I don't think we could have gone wrong with anything we chose. I won't go into the menu because I am sure it will change with the seasons but just allow me to say that it is an absolute delight just to read it.||The meal was never rushed, typical French, the service exemplary and although we did speak French as much as we could our patrons both spoke perfect English. ||I think there is nothing more one would every want or expect from a French restaurant and it was a perfect way to finish...
